PureWire is an independent digital news and investigative publishing platform focused on factual accuracy, transparency, and professional journalism. These rules define the editorial, ethical, and operational standards for all contributors.

1. Editorial Purpose

2. Contributor Responsibilities

All contributors to PureWire must:

  • Protect confidential and vulnerable sources
  • Clearly label opinion and interpretation
  • Disclose any relevant conflicts of interest

Contributor accountability ensures trust.

3. Ethical Standards

PureWire contributors are expected to follow recognized journalistic ethics, including:

  • Editorial independence
  • Accuracy and fairness
  • Accountability for published material
  • Transparency in sourcing and methodology
  • Minimization of harm

The SPJ Code of Ethics is recommended as a guiding reference.

4. Accepted Content

PureWire accepts the following content types:

  • Maximum 3 outbound editorial links per article (excluding citations)
  • Links must add informational or contextual value
  • ❌ No affiliate links, referral schemes, or monetized redirects
  • ❌ No coordinated link-building or SEO manipulation
Links must benefit readers, not external agendas.

6. Media Policy

Video Content

  • ❌ Direct video uploads are not permitted
  • ✅ Videos must be embedded from established platforms (e.g. YouTube, Vimeo)
  • Embedded videos must be directly relevant to the article

Images

  • ✅ Only upload images with valid usage rights
  • Attribution is required where applicable
  • Recommended file size: under 5MB
  • Deceptive or manipulated imagery is prohibited

7. Prohibited Content 🚫

The following content is strictly prohibited on PureWire:

❌ Plagiarism or copyright infringement
❌ Fabricated, knowingly false, or misleading information
❌ Hate speech, harassment, or threats
❌ Promotional or sponsored content presented as journalism
❌ Malware, exploits, or malicious code
❌ Breach of source confidentiality
❌ Publication of private or sensitive data without consent

8. Moderation & Enforcement

PureWire reserves the right to:

  • Remove content that violates these rules
  • Restrict, suspend, or terminate contributor accounts
  • Act immediately in cases of serious or repeated violations

Enforcement actions are based on editorial conduct and factual integrity, not political or ideological viewpoint.

Appeals

If you believe a moderation action was taken in error, you may submit an appeal through the official contact page.

9. Corrections & Transparency

  • Verified errors must be corrected promptly
  • Corrections must be clearly visible to readers
  • Updates to developing stories must be transparent and time-stamped
  • Silent edits that materially change meaning are not permitted

Transparency strengthens credibility.

10. Contributor Rights

Contributors to PureWire retain:

  • Full copyright ownership
  • Republication and syndication rights
  • Control over personal profiles and content

PureWire provides:

  • A professional publishing platform
  • Secure technical infrastructure
  • Privacy and pseudonym options
  • Access to an independent journalism community

11. Platform Resource Responsibility

PureWire operates with limited technical resources. Contributors are asked to:

  • Embed media instead of uploading large files
  • Optimize images before submission
  • Avoid unnecessary server or bandwidth consumption

Responsible use ensures platform stability and availability.
